' The Dark Side '

Jane Mayer has authored a new book called , ' The Dark Side ; The Inside Story of How The War On Terror Turned Into A War On American Ideals ' . This painstakingly researched study of the policy of ' Enhanced Interrogation ' and ' Extraordinary Rendition ' , could easily be used by interested parties to identify targets for war crimes trials. This noted New Yorker reporter has documented a program of disgusting behavior by our agents that betray the America I was taught to know and love. The back jacket of the book juxtaposes two illuminating quotes :

I am particularly concerned that the tactical solutions being employed far away and in secret will be transposed to be used right here at home, " at a time of their choosing," and that the practitioners are going to come home as our neighbors and be lauded to our children as heroes and role models. What are we doing to ourselves ? We strive mightily to control our police activities as it is. What do we say to them in the face of such overarching examples of problem resolution. When the chips are down, we know what really gets results , heh , heh ! In the mean time we'll put on a good show for them panty waist, bleedin' heart Liberals ! Jane Mayer gave a great interview to Charlie Rose today on PBS. Just as George H.W. Bush proclaimed upon the invasion of Kuwait, This will not stand. This is definitely not the America I signed up for. Our country is an assent to a willful choice, unique among men. The preamble to our Constitution is a stumbling block to our current leaders, " All men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights..." There are no exceptions, despite the Republican penchant for special rules that absolve them from responsibility. !!!

What indeed is the meaning of American Justice Mr. President ? Pray tell ! Is the Unitary Executive subject to any checks at all short of the Divine Interventions of Armageddon ? In the Armed Forces you take an oath to defend our nation against all enemies , Foreign and Domestic. Are Republicans immune from the prospect of being seen as Domestic Enemies , always and forever by Divine acclamation ? Hallelujah !!
